Der Erfinder und Initiator des Skodatreffens ist Maik Janke.
Seine klare Vision von Anfang an war es, Škoda-Fans aus aller Welt zu vereinen – unabhängig von Herkunft, Modell, Baujahr oder Umbaugrad. Nicht Wettbewerb oder Prestige standen im Vordergrund, sondern Gemeinschaft, Austausch und gemeinsame Leidenschaft für die Marke Škoda.
Aus dieser Idee heraus entstanden in den frühen 2010er-Jahren das erste Treffen. Was zunächst als überschaubares Fantreffen begann, sprach schnell immer mehr Enthusiasten an. Die Offenheit des Konzepts – Oldtimer, Serienfahrzeuge und Tuning gleichermaßen willkommen – traf den Nerv der Community.
Mit steigender Teilnehmerzahl etablierte sich Pobershau im Erzgebirge als fester Austragungsort. Dort entwickelte sich das Treffen Jahr für Jahr weiter:
- wachsende internationale Beteiligung
- Camping & Festzelt als Herzstück des Wochenendes
- lockere Präsentation der Fahrzeuge statt strenger Wettbewerbe
Aus der ursprünglichen Idee von Maik Janke wurde das Internationale Skodatreffen (I.S.T.) – heute eines der größten markenreinen Škoda-Treffen Europas. Trotz der Größe blieb der Grundgedanke erhalten:

Heute ist das Skodatreffen:

Viele Besucher kommen jedes Jahr wieder – nicht nur wegen der Autos, sondern wegen der Vision, die Maik Janke ins Leben gerufen hat.
The inventor and initiator of the Škoda Meeting is Maik Janke.
From the very beginning, his clear vision was to bring Škoda fans from all over the world together – regardless of origin, model, year of manufacture, or level of modification. Competition or prestige were never the focus; instead, the emphasis was on community, exchange, and a shared passion for the Škoda brand.
From this idea, the first meeting emerged in the early 2010s. What initially began as a small fan gathering quickly attracted more and more enthusiasts. The openness of the concept – with classic cars, production vehicles, and tuned cars all equally welcome – truly resonated with the community.
As the number of participants grew, Pobershau in the Ore Mountains became established as the permanent venue. There, the event continued to develop year after year, featuring:
growing international participation
camping and the festival tent as the heart of the weekend
a relaxed presentation of vehicles instead of strict competitions
From Maik Janke’s original idea, the International Škoda Meeting (I.S.T.) was born – today one of the largest brand-specific Škoda meetings in Europe. Despite its size, the core idea has remained unchanged:
Fans for fans
a family-friendly atmosphere
respect, solidarity, and shared enthusiasm
Today, the Škoda Meeting is:
a fixed annual date for Škoda fans from many countries
a symbol of brand passion without borders
an event where friendships are formed and maintained
Many visitors return year after year – not only because of the cars, but because of the vision that Maik Janke brought to life.
